Niu Niu’s rescue story:
Niu Niu was born in February of 2011. She was raised by a bus driver at his head office with the intention of breeding her in the future so he can make money from her.
However, he did not put much effort into taking care of Niu Niu. Much of the time she was tied up with a 15cm metal chain to a hydro pole. With no room to move around she slept and did all of her businesses there as well. She lived like that for 5 months without any freedom or shelter. No wonder she was filthy, and full of worms and ticks.
The rescuer first convinced the driver that she must have better living conditions educating him that she needed a longer chain. He complied, but still didn’t offer shelter from the hot sun & rain.
When Niu Niu came into heat stray male dogs were constant night time visitors. The rescuer wanted to end her suffering and prevent more un-necessary puppies to come to this world. She convinced the driver to have Niu Niu spayed. While at the veterinarian the rescuer went and talked to the supervisor of the bus company and the driver to persuade them to surrender Niu Niu. Fortunately, she succeeded. This is how Niu Niu has come into our care.
Niu Niu is a pure and innocent puppy just like many others. She believes in humans and is always full of love and curiosity. As with many puppies she can get too excited and be overly exuberant when playing with dogs and people. This is something that we will be working on with her. Her new guardian should continue this with positive obedience training so she learns appropriate play styles and manners. Niu Niu is a wonderful dog that deserves to be pampered. We truly wish she can find a new owner that will love, understand, and appreciate her.
If you are looking for a loyal and energetic fun loving puppy, Niu Niu might be a great fit to your family. Preference given to dog savvy or GSD experience homes.

They can fly over Vancouver on Nov15 if we have a potential adoptive family for them.
Kaiser was saved from an over-crowded California shelter where he had a very slim chance of making it out alive. Currently he’s being boarded in the states, but will be coming into foster with Emily very soon. We're hoping to have
a home lined up for him before he arrives, but realize that's icing on top of the cake of saving this boy's life.
Here is the info from California we have on him:
A1241603 Kaiser is an ebullient ten month old brown brindle and white male American Staffordshire Terrier mix who was found as a stray and brought to the North Central shelter on August 16th. Weighing forty-five pounds, he walks okay on leash although he doesn't seem to have had formal training.
Dog friendly and full of puppy energy, Kaiser is a happy puppy who is ready to play and run at all times! Kaiser will be a perfect indoor pet for an active individual or family living in a private home; we think he would be a spectacular family dog.
