.
As an additional service, we offer a special nursery care for pups less than 12 weeks. Speak to us directly for more details and rates.

Walking is not a necessary part of K9HQ’s regular daycare program. Our facility is designed for dogs as an open concept indoor venue with a fully fenced outdoor potty.

You will find that your dog has ample exercise throughout the day and goes home tired and satisfied.
.
As an additional service, separate from daycare, group Adventure Hikes & individual House visits are offered. Click on the Walking page for more information.
.
.
.
Is my dog ever let off his leash on walks?
.

.
.
Do you have an outdoor facility?
.
K9HQ is 3400 square foot indoor open concept facility with a fully fenced outdoor potty area that the dogs have access to throughout the day.
.
.
.
What will my dog do throughout the day?
.
Your dog will be playing with dogs of his or her size and temperament. Their activities include, but are not limited to: romping, wrestling, tug, KONG toys, and yes, being pampered. In addition, they learn a few tricks to bring home like the "wave" and the "hug".
.
K9HQ offers physical activity and exercise, in addition to mental stimulation.
With the average 9 hour visit it is imperative for their health that the dogs rest during their stay. Exhaustion has proven to be detrimental on the immune system. With this in mind a NAP TIME and REST PERIODS are given.
The nap will help rebuild their energy stores while the rest periods aid in allowing them "down" time so they are not over stimulated.
.
The benefits to the young and old is amazing, confidence builds in the shy dog, renewed vigor in the old dog, responsiveness in the young dog, along with stamina and fitness in the overweight.
.
You have to see it to believe it. Check out what our customers say on our Testimonial page.

.
My dog is not spayed (or neutered). Can they still come?
.
Depending on the age of your pup, you may still bring them. Please read on for recommendations and K9HQ policy.
Female dogs are recommended spayed at age of 6 months, which is normally prior to their first heat cycle.
.
During their heat cycle, females can be a bit grumpy and not suitable for a social setting. In addition, while in heat they may be pestered by male dogs (in and out of daycare), which is not suitable during their developmental stage (6-14months).
.
Please speak with your veterinarian about the pros/cons for your dog regarding spaying.
.
With all of that said, yes intact females are allowed except during their heat cycle.
.
Male dogs attending K9HQ must be neutered by 8 months of age or earlier if undesirable behaviours (marking and or obsessive mounting) develop.
.
Keep in mind that intact male dogs are not necessarily aggressive. What we find is that neutered males may be intimidated and do not always respond with their best manners.
.
So, for safety we have found a cutoff period works best in a group social setting.
.
Please speak with our veterinarian for advise on the pros/cons of neutering your dog.
.
.
.
I want to go on vacation. Can I leave my dog with you?
.
K9HQ is a daycare facility only. However, we can recommend in-home boarding by qualified staff members to ensure your dog has a stress free vacation.
.

.
Sandbox Skills & Attendance Requirements
.
All dogs must be friendly to both people and other dogs. K9HQ does an evaluation to assess your dog’s sociability and suitability in our daycare environment. This extends to the first 5 visits.
.
As dogs have a relatively short lifespan, their behaviour can change over a period of months. Your dog should visit at least every three months or may need to be re-evaluated prior to coming back after an extended absence.
.
.
.
.
We have a variety of rates dependant on the frequency of visits. Daily rates, 2-9 day punch cards, 10-day packages, and monthly rates. Please speak with us so we can offer the best rate for your needs.
.
.
.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, cheque, debit card (.25cent fee), visa, and master card.
